Rachel Williams-Clifford, Founder + Director of Special Services

My name is Rachel Williams, and I am excited to fulfill my long-time dream of opening a school. I have lived in Maine most of my life and live in Cumberland Center with my husband and four kids.

Before opening The Willow School, I owned Maple’s in Yarmouth for a few years. I enjoyed many positions on non-profit boards, as well as being the Chairman of the Cromwell Center Board and a member of the Maine Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Cabinet Committee. I have loved coaching my kid’s sports teams and supporting their other interests. I graduated from the University of Maine and earned a Masters in early childhood education from Lesley University. I was also awarded an honorary degree from STRIVE U for my work in establishing their programs. I taught at a handful of pre-schools in the suburbs of Boston and have a passion for early childhood education and child development.

I am also the head coach of the Greely Girls Varsity Soccer team. I look forward to connecting with all of the families at the Willow School and hope to connect with each student uniquely while honoring and supporting their learning styles. When not at school, I enjoy cooking, reading, spending time with my family, and enjoying lakes, beaches, and other beautiful outdoor spaces in Maine.
