Jenny Eastman, Director + Lead Teacher

Jenny Eastman, Director and Lead Teacher

Hi, Friends! My name is Jenny Eastman. I am thrilled to share the Willow School and our community with you.

My previous experience includes teaching for the PeaceJam and the Department of Education in Colorado, the Montessori School of Chevy Chase in Washington, D.C., and Winfield Children's House in Maine. I received my B.A. in politics and philosophy from Mount Holyoke College and completed my American Montessori Society Primary Credential in 2019.

My areas of interest as an educator are Service Learning, Social-Emotional Learning, Child Development, and Nature-based curricula. These areas are crucial in shaping well-rounded individuals. By focusing on Service Learning, I aim to instill a sense of community and responsibility in our students. Social-emotional learning will help them understand and manage their emotions, while Child Development studies will guide my approach to their learning. Lastly, a Nature-based curriculum will foster their appreciation for the environment. I work in early childhood education because I believe it is the best way I can make a difference. These years are a precious time of discovery and growth for children, and it is an honor to be a part of them.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy running, swimming, learning to play the fiddle, spending time with my husband and our two girls, and laughing with my sisters. I am full of joyful anticipation and look forward to sharing the coming school year with all of you!
